Angmering
Angmering is one of only three villages in West Sussex chosen to have an eco-makeover.

Ashton Hayes
Going Carbon Neutral Project: The Cheshire village of Ashton Hayes (pop. 1000 approx.) is aiming to become the first small community in England to achieve carbon neutral status.

Bedford Carbon Castle
A good example of community action on climate change in Bedfordshire.

Baywind energy co-operative
Baywind energy co-operative enabled a community in Cumbria to invest in local wind turbines. The original board of directors included 7 members of the community from Ulverston and Barrow.

BedZed in Wallington, Surrey
This is the UK’s biggest carbon-neutral eco-community, producing at least as much energy from renewable sources as it consumes.

Biggar
Aiming is to make Biggar the first town in Scotland to aim for Carbon Neutral status.

Bollington
The Bollington Carbon Revolution is a group of local active volunteers who have come together with the over-arching aim of reducing Bollington's carbon footprint.

Bovey Climate Action
This is a community group based in the South Devon town of Bovey Tracey and the surrounding area which aims to reducing the amount of CO2 emissions in Bovey Tracey, raising awareness locally of climate change an how to tackle it and lobby for greater change - to government and business.

Brixton
Includes a successful 'grow your own' project on the Hyde Farm housing estate.

Crediton Climate Action

Exeter
Low Carbon Exeter aims are to inspire, through individual and civil action the natural creativity of Exeter’s citizens. So that we can all participate in creating a broad-ranging plan for living more with less energy.

Falmouth
Now has an annual community seed swap event, known as 'Seedy Saturday' due to its great popularity.

Glastonbury
Exciting projects include the Glastonbury Ten Bob note, inspired by the Totnes Pound and Low Impact Building for Sustainability.

Lewes
Lewes is currently developing an Energy Descent Action Plan, following a long string of successful initiatives such as a local solar panel-buying group.

Marsden & Slaithwaite
These neighbouring villages are in the process of producing an Energy Descent Action Plan.

Middlesborough

In the summer and autumn 2007, thousands of people living and working in the town of Middlesborough, Tees Valley participated in a project to increase local food production and reduce food miles.

Moseley
Sustainable Moseley’s aim is to work towards a sustainable Moseley, through initially reducing the community’s carbon footprint.

Oxfordshire
Across Oxfordshire, individuals, neighbourhoods, villages, and towns are taking the low carbon challenge into their own hands.

Shropshire Low Carbon Communities Project

This project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5.88% or 3820 tonnes within three communities in Shropshire by April 2009, incorporating all sectors of those communities.

Stirling
Going Carbon Neutral Riverside , a community organisation in the Riverside area of Stirling in central Scotland that is taking steps to tackle climate change and high energy bills by lowering Riverside’s ‘carbon footprint’.

Totnes
Many events are being organised in the UK first Transition Town.

Transition Towns
This website is a WIKI for use by all the communities that have adopted the Transition Model for responding to the twin challenges of Peak Oil and Climate Change.

Whittington & Fisherwick
Whittington and Fisherwick Environment Group’s (WFEG) campaign to reduce the villages’ carbon emissions.

Whitstable
A sustainable future is within reach as there is already a wind farm off the coast of Whitstable providing enough electricity to power 70,000 homes.
